Activity Guideline for Studying Spelling

Monday: Write the words three times each

Tuesday: Read the word, write the word in the air, write the word on paper

Wednesday: While spelling words aloud, stand for consonants and sit for vowels

Thursday: Cut letters apart and reassemble the words

Friday: Write words in different textures (shaving cream, pudding, velvet, etc.)

Monday: Use "Spelling Laptop" to type the words

Tuesday: Practice test

Activities for studying our Weekly Reading Story & Vocabulary

Break the story into sections to read nightly.

Read the story to your child and ask questions given.

Cut the vocabulary words apart from the definitions and match them.

Put the vocabulary words in sentences to check understanding of the words.

Study guide will be given before each test to help prepare.

Story:  "The Garden of Abdul Gasazi"

Spelling Words: hear, here, new, knew, its, it's, our, hour, there, their, they're, seen, scene, to, two, too, bear, bare, whether, and weather,

Vocabulary Words: blurted, galloped, awesome, convinced, disappeared, tremendous, incredible, exhausted, discovered, and impossible

Reading, Vocabulary, and Spelling Test will be given on Wednesday, February 11, 2009
