Parent Survey Summary - May 2006

84 surveys were distributed to the families through our students.  61 surveys were returned.  This would be 73% percent of the surveys were returned.  The items that have the highest “yes” responses are: “The teacher makes learning interesting”, “My child learned something in every subject this year”, “Assignment that my child does are important”, “I help my child with assignments he/she does at home”.  The items that have the lowest percentage of “no” responses are: “I am actively involved at Caseyville (PTA meetings, room parties, and field trips)”, and “There are social influences in the community which effect student learning (drugs, violence)”.

Some of the noteworthy responses given by the parents are as follows: 1.) Suggestions about Regal Eagles – 2 parents responded with a concern with carrying over behavior for more than one week.  2.) Change to improve the academic and social atmosphere of our school – 2 parents think that by having more observance by the teacher, both on the school grounds and the classroom would help a lot. 3.) What you like best about our school – 8 parents responded by saying friendly teachers, staff, and principal. 4.) Other comments and/or suggestion that were given – A safety issue was addressed a couple of times in reference to locking front doors and having the office be more aware of who is coming in and out. 5.) Major themes that were addressed – Parents are concerned about the lack of healthy lunches and snacks choices.  Overall, the parents feel that Regal Eagles is a positive incentive.
