Welcome to CHS Athletic Training!
What is Athletic
Training?
Athletic training is an
allied health profession that specializes in the prevention, treatment and
rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Collinsville High School has an
up-to-date athletic training room that provides our athletes with many
treatment and rehabilitation options. The Athletic Training Room is
open every afternoon for injury evaluations, treatment & rehabilitation.
For more
information about Athletic Training visit the
National Athletic Trainers
Association website.
How does it work?
Athletes are encouraged to see Amanda when an injury occurs. Many
problems can be addressed here at school without having to consult a
physician, saving time & expense. If further evaluation by a
doctor is needed, the athletic trainer will make that recommendation.
While injury
care is the primary concern, Amanda is also available for any other health related
issues. Please contact the Athletic Training Room with any questions concerning nutrition,
training and conditioning, nutritional supplements or other health
issues.
"Is there a doctor in the house"?
Dr Janiece Stewart, of the Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports
Medicine (www.COSSM-STE.com), is team
physician for the Kahoks. Dr Stewart provides sideline coverage for home
football games & other sporting events throughout the year. She is also
available for office visits & injury care.
