 Individual Goals and Expectations

Do What is Right.  Each day all of us face choices.  Those choices affect the direction of our lives as well as the lives of those around us.  We don't always make the right choices, but we must all strive to do so.  Strive to do right, not wrong; to do good, not bad.  Help your teammates do right.

Academic Achievement.  Achieve your highest possible level of academic performance in the classroom.  Academic success is the primary goal of any high school student-athlete.  Academic goals must come first in order for the football team to succeed.  It does no member of the team good to fail to meet the academic requirements of the school and lose the privilege of playing football.  Keep grades at the highest level possible.

Unity, Loyalty and Tolerance.  A football team must be a single entity in order to have success.  There can be no separate factions, or splintered groups.  However, a team is made up of individuals.  Every individual is a different person with a different background.  All of us must be accepting of differences in our teammates, as well as those around us.  We must be tolerant of each other's differences, even if we disagree with another person's beliefs.  Learn to look for similarities in people rather than to focus on the differences.  Be tolerant of teammates.  Gain a sense of loyalty to the team.

Physical Preparation.  Strength, speed, and agility make each team member a better football player.  Learn to work hard in the weight room and in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program in order to achieve the highest possible level of athletic performance.

Commitment.  Learn what it means to be committed to a cause.  Gain an appreciation for the benefits to you of committing yourself wholly.

Accountability.  Learn that you are accountable for your actions; not just accountable to yourself, but accountable to your teammates and those who depend on you.

Hard Work.  Know what hard work is.  Learn to be able to make yourself work hard with no immediate gratification...and no promise of future gratification.

Future.  Attend the college of your choice.

Fulfillment.  Have a rewarding and fulfilling experience playing football at Collinsville High School.

Team Goals:

Team.  Become a TEAM in every sense of the word.  Understand the strength, power and meaning of the concept of Team.  Learn to depend on your teammates and allow them to depend on you...both on the field and off.

Citizenship.  Be known as a football program full of quality young men.  Play by the rules, play fair, play clean and act responsibly...both on the field and off.

Style and Level of Play.  Gain a reputation as a team that is hard-nosed and hard-hitting, relentless, will never quit, and is tenacious in pursuit of victory.

Win.  Quality for the State Playoffs!  Win the Conference Championship!  Win the State Championship!
