Mrs. Curry’s
Classroom Policies
Classroom Conduct
On the first day of school, the students and I
will create a list of rules for classroom behavior. When a rule is broken or
behavior becomes problematic the following will be the consequences:
* 1st offense: Verbal warning
* 2nd offense: Sign the bad choice book
* 3rd offense: Sign the bad choice book, plus a loss of recess
* 4th offense: Above, plus a phone call or letter home
* 5th offense: Above, plus a visit with Mrs. Luehmann
When a student does not have to sign the bad choice book, he/she will receive a
marble at the end of each day. These marbles will go into a classroom “Marblous”
Behavior Jar, when the jar becomes full we will have a “Marblous” behavior
party.
Homework-Behavior Sheets
At the beginning of every week your child will
receive a homework sheet with a spot for daily behavior. Your child is
responsible for filling in any assignments that we either complete at school
(will have an X on it) or any assignment that will need to be completed at home.
Any assignment without an X indicates "homework". These assignments must be
finished at home and returned to school the next day. This sheet must be signed
or initialed daily by a parent/guardian indicating that the homework was SEEN
and COMPLETED or loss of recess will occur.
Take-Home Binders
Each child will have a take-home binder that is
for finished and unfinished homework, as well as for important papers from
school. The homework-behavior sheets will be in the front of this binder. There
are 3 sections: homework, parents, and papers. All homework will be in the
homework section. Please make sure your child completes anything in that section
and returns it to school the next day. Check the parents section nightly. This
is where you will find my newsletters, menus, important school papers needing
signatures, field trip permission slips, etc. Anything in the papers section,
which is a folder, may be taken out and remain at home. It is extremely
important that this binder is checked nightly and all papers not needing to be
returned to school are removed. Only homework, signed papers needing to come
back to school, and the homework-behavior sheets should remain in the binder.
H.O.T. tickets (Homework On Time)
Every day your child will have the opportunity to
earn a HOT ticket for turning in their homework on time. On Fridays we will draw
HOT tickets for a can of soda. I am asking that each child donate a 6 pack of
soda for our HOT ticket raffles, I will provide the first 6 pack of soda.
Summer Birthdays
Celebrating a birthday with classmates is a fun
and memorable event. If your child has a summer birthday, he/she may celebrate
on their 6 month (1/2 birthday, ex. birthday is July 14th, can celebrate on
January 14th). Just send in a note as to when your child would like to
celebrate, and please remember all food and/or drinks need to be store-bought
and not homemade.
