Reading Counts

.................................................Check back often for updates!

Reading Counts is a program used in our elementary and middle schools to promote and instill a love for reading in our students! Our school has monthly Reading Counts Incentive Parties! The party that the class can vote on is based on a point system. The class can choose a party of their choice based on the average amount of points they earn as a class. It is up to the teacher's discretion whether or not a student has been making an honest effort and contributing to the class average of points. Below is a link to some books that have a Reading Counts Quiz.

Book Titles with Available Quizzes

You can help your child earn points by making reading a nightly habit at home! Encourage your child to read 15-20 minutes a day at home! This reading can be done together (take turns reading paragraphs), independently, with a sibling, or even being read to!

Students are permitted & encouraged to take quizzes on books that are:
-Read aloud by Mrs. Curry
-Stories from our reading book (each story has a quiz)
-Their library book
-Books from home

Not only will the class earn a classroom party, but Mrs. Curry's class has quarterly prizes for the TOP reader! The student that earns the most points each quarter will earn a special treat!
