A Note From the
Principal CLICK HERE FOR LIST OF AUCTION ITEMS With the new year upon us and more than half-way through the school year, our students are back into their regular routines. The cold weather is here along with possible snow. In our efforts to keep you updated on school cancellations due to inclement weather it is important that you keep your information up to date in the office. Collinsville School District will continue to report school closings due to snow or weather on local radio and television stations (please see the school handbook for specific channel information) and will use School Reach (phone system) as an overlay to the public announcements. Since winter is upon us, recesses will begin to be affected. The children will be going outside unless it is raining/sleeting, snowing, or bitterly cold so please make sure they come to school dressed appropriately with hats, coats, and gloves. The children really need the opportunity to get outside for some exercise and fresh air, as well as the chance to release some of their energy so they can concentrate on their studies.
If your child can not go outside for one day due to a current illness, please send a note to his/her teacher. If it is for a prolonged period of time (more than one day), it will be necessary for you to obtain a doctor’s note. Afternoon Dismissal Reminders:
Thank you VERY much to all the parents who helped out at the book fair. Activities like this cannot be accomplished without the volunteers. Thank you to everyone who is participating in the candy bar Maryville Fundraiser. This fundraiser is for the Maryville activity fund and is not part of the PTA. The money earned will be used for items such as playground equipment, supplies for the teachers and students, rewards for students, assemblies, etc. Your help and contribution makes Maryville the outstanding school that it is. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to call (346-6261) or email me at jluehman@kahoks.org Sincerely, |
