About Mrs. Walters

    Welcome to my web page!  This is my fourth year of teaching at Collinsville Midle School and I LOVE eighth graders!!

    I grew up in a little town north of Flint, MI and graduated from high school in 1979.  From there I entered the Air Force and served my country for six years.  I have been stationed at McChord AFB, WA; Hofn, Iceland; and March AFB, CA.   I was also afforded the opportunity for travel.  My favorite place was Honolulu, Hawaii!

    While stationed at Iceland, I met my future husband, L.D. Walters.   We  married on May 17, 1986 and now have two great boys, Matthew-who is 17 and a SENIOR!! at Belleville East, and Joshua-who is 13 and  in the 7th grade at Wolf Branch Elementary.  I also have two knuckled-headed Australian Shepherds, Sydney and Shadow.

    I returned to Southwestern Illinois College in 1995, then transferred to McKendree College where I graduated with a degree in Education in December 2000.  I am currently enrolled at SIU-E and will earn my masters degree in education this spring!!

    I enjoy cross-stitching, reading (Dean Koontz and James Peterson are two of my favorites!), and being with my family.

   I look forward to spending the next year with you and your family!!
