In order to help students learn how to communicate mathematically, every Thursday the following web site will contain a new "Problem of the Week". Students can solve the 7/8 grade problem for 12 extra credit points. These answers will be scored according to the state rubric which your child has a copy of. Your student may receive anywhere from 1 to 12 points. To receive full credit, the problem must be solved accurately; students must write out how they solved the problem and tell why they did what they did in paragraph form. All steps must be shown, even those operations that can be done in their head. Partial credit will be given for work completed.
Answers are posted every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. It is imperative students turn in their work BEFORE the answer has been posted. Work turned in after the answers have been posted will not be accepted- NO EXCEPTIONS!
